  1. Combine all the ingredients for the salad in a bowl, add the lemony dressing and toss gently.

    1. For the lemony dressing of healthy Indian green chickpea salad, squeeze some fresh lemon juice in a small bowl.
    2. To this add, freshly ground black pepper. Also called as kalimirch, it truly perks up the flavour of paneer and chickpea salad.
    3. Add little black salt. For heart patients and hypertensives, this is best avoided.
    4. Add crushed cumin seeds powder too. If you are making it home, remember to roast it and then crush it. 
    5. Finally add salt.
    6. Mix well using a spoon. Keep aside.

    1. For the healthy Indian green chickpea salad, first buy good quality chana. Choose uniformly-sized and nice green coloured chana, devoid of white or dark spots and holes. 
    2. Wash them and add enough water for soaking.
    3. Cover with a lid and keep aside. You need to soak these chana for at least 8 hours or overnight.
    4. Next day, drain the hara chana using a strainer.
    5. Transfer the hara chana into a pressure cooker.

    7. Close the lid of the pressure cooker and allow them to cook for 4 whistles. 
    8. Allow the pressure cooker to cool down and then open the lid. This is how the hara chana looks after cooking. They should be perfectly cooked to be able to feel the bite, and not overcooked or mushy. 
    9. Again drain the excess water using a strainer. Keep the cooked green chickpeas aside.

Very innovative combination of Paneer and Hara chana and which is so tasty that anyone would like to have anohter helping of it. Looks so vibrant and colourful with such contasting colours. Very quick to make and its so healthy. Paneer adds that protein and calcium content too. Loved it totally.
