Ingredients
Main Ingredients
1 1/4 cups long grain rice (basmati chawal)
1 tsp ghee
50 mm (2?) stick cinnamon (dalchini)
1/3 cup sliced onions
1/3 cup sliced carrots
1/3 cup diagonally cut french beans
1/3 cup sliced mushrooms (khumbh)
1/3 cup fresh green peas
salt to taste
Method
- Clean, wash and soak the rice in enough water for atleast 10 to 15 minutes. Drain and keep aside.
- Heat the ghee in a non-stick kadhai, add the cinnamon, cloves, cardamom and bayleaves and sauté on a medium flame for a few seconds.
- Add the onions, carrots, french beans, mushrooms, green peas, rice and salt, mix well and sauté on a medium flame for another minute.
- Add 3 cups of hot water, mix well and cook on a slow flame for 15 to 20 minutes or till the rice gets cooked and the water has evaporated. Serve hot.
