Here, steamed purple yam cubes are stir-fried with black salt and chilli powder, which gives it a peppy and tangy flavour that warms you to the core, even on a cold and rainy day!

Main Ingredients
2 1/2 cups steamed purple yam (kand) cubes
2 tbsp oil
1/2 tsp chilli powder
1/4 tsp black salt (sanchal)
salt to taste
Method
- Heat the oil in a broad non-stick pan, add the purple yam and sauté on a medium flame for 2 minutes.
- Add the chilli powder, black salt and salt, mix well and cook on a medium flame for 8 to 10 minutes or till it turns golden brown in colour, while stirring occasionally.
- Serve immediately.

Wow such a simple and easy cooking method, yummy too.It goes well with special kand masala too.Being gujarati I have tried kand chat also with special kand masala which is made especially for kand chat but not easily available everywhere and very very famous and popular in Nathdwara.
