  12. Cook on medium flame for 5 minutes until the paneer is cooked. NOTE. Taste a spoon of the paneer kheer to test the sugar and see if the paneer is cooked. You don't want a raw taste of paneer. Also remember to keep stirring while cooking at this stage.
  13. Serve paneer kheer recipe | paneer payasam | Indian paneer kheer for upvas, vrat | chena kheer | hot or cold. Garnish with chopped almonds, pista and cashew nuts. Don't forget to add a few strands of saffron to top it off.
