To make oats adai, combine all the ingredients in a deep bowl along with 1½ cups of water and mix well. Cover with a lid and keep aside for 15 minutes. Heat a non-stick tava (griddle), grease it with ¼ tsp of oil, pour a ladleful of the batter on the tava (griddle), spread it in a circular motion to make a 125 mm. (5") adai and cook it using ¼ tsp of oil till it turns golden brown in colour from both the sides. Repeat step 3 to make 7 more adais. Serve immediately with green chutney.

1/2 cup finely chopped spinach (palak)
1/4 cup finely chopped onion
1 tbsp finely chopped curry leaves (kadi patta)
1 tsp finely chopped green chillies
1/2 tsp finely chopped ginger (adrak)
1/4 tsp turmeric powder (haldi)
1 tsp cumin seeds (jeera)
1/2 tsp chilli powder
1/4 tsp asafoetida (hing)
salt to taste
4 tsp oil for greasing and cooking

- To make oats adai, combine all the ingredients in a deep bowl along with 1½ cups of water and mix well.
- Cover with a lid and keep aside for 15 minutes.
- Heat a non-stick tava (griddle), grease it with ¼ tsp of oil, pour a ladleful of the batter on the tava (griddle), spread it in a circular motion to make a 125 mm. (5") adai and cook it using ¼ tsp of oil till it turns golden brown in colour from both the sides.
- Repeat step 3 to make 7 more adais.
- Serve the oats adai immediately with green chutney.

Oats Adai.. this is anytime better than.. regular adai recipe.. it has only oats.. This tastes really good.. and healthy at the same time.. for break fast.

If I''m not mistaken, quick-cooking rolled oats are low in fibre, hence not good for diabetics. Steel-cut oats are the ones which are high in fibre.
