Tips to make suran fry: 1. Instead of yam you can use raw bananas to make banana rava fry. 2. You can add ginger garlic paste in the wet masala. 3. Immerse the slices immediately after cutting them otherwise discoloration happens.

For suran fry- To make suran fry, boil the yam slices in a deep non-stick pan with enough water for 6 to 8 minutes.
- Drain. Keep aside.
- Combine the chilli powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder, cumin seeds powder, tamarind pulp and salt in a deep bowl and mix well.
- Coat each yam slice with the prepared masala, then coat into dry masala from both the sides.
- Heat the oil in a non-stick tava (griddle) and place the coated yam slices.
- Cook them on a medium flame for 3 to 4 minutes till they turn brown in colour from both the sides.
- Serve suran fry immediately.
