Method

  1. To make the iyengar bakery style rava cake, in a deep bowl, add oil, curd, vanilla extract, powdered sugar, rava and milk.
  2. Whisk well and cover with a lid and keep aside for 20 minutes.
  3. Now add plain flour, baking powder and baking soda and whisk well.
  4. Pour the batter into a greased and lined tin and bake in a pre-heated oven at 180° c (360°f) for 30 to 35 minutes.
  5. Remove, demould and cool completely. Cut into equal slices.
  6. Serve the iyengar bakery style rava cake.

This is fantastic and simple recipe which gives awesome results. The rawa cake came out exactly as Iyengar Banglore bakery. Everyone at home and friends loved it and I got lot of accolades as if this was store brought. Tarala dalal recipes in all are much much better than any other site. It''s rawa dosa is another fav at our household.
