1 small stick cinnamon (dalchini)
1 tsp honey , optional

  1. To make ginger cinnamon tea, combine the ginger, cinnamon and 2 cups of water in a non-stick saucepan. Mix well, cover with a lid and cook on a medium flame for 8 minutes.
  2. Strain the mixture.
  3. Add the honey and mix well.
  4. Serve the ginger cinnamon tea warm.

Method for making ginger roundels

  1. To make ginger roundels, buy fresh ginger. This is what a piece of ginger looks like.
  2. In order to make ginger roundels, wash the ginger (adrak).
  3. Peel the outer skin using the blunt end of the knife or a peeler. 
  4. Place on a chopping board and make vertical slits at regular intervals to get roundels. Make them fine or thick as required. It would be best to separate out the fingers and then cut each finger individually to get ginger roundels.

Thus is an excellent recipe, but if you wish to add the optional honey, it needs to be cooled down to below 40°c before adding it. As per Ayurveda, honey should never be added to hot liquids, since heat changes the good properties of honey.

Mildly spiced, this herbal tea will be well accepted by those who like the taste of ginger... Addition of honey makes it pleasing though for everyone..
