Ingredients

For Crispy Vegetables
2 cups vegetables , shredded (carrots , babycorn, capscium)
5 tbsp cornflour mixed with 2 tablespoons water
oil for deep-frying
salt to taste

For The Honey-5 Spice Sauce
2 tbsp honey
2 tsp soy sauce
2 tsp sugar
1/2 tsp chinese 5 spice powder
salt to taste

Other Ingredients
1/2 cup chopped spring onions whites
2 tsp garlic (lehsun) , chopped
2 tbsp chopped ginger (adrak)
4 whole dry kashmiri red chillies , broken
2 sliced green chillies
1 tsp schezuan sauce
1/4 cup chopped spring onion greens
2 tbsp oil
salt to taste
Method

For the crispy vegetables

    For the crispy vegetables
  1. Make a paste with the cornflour, water and salt and add to the vegetables.
  2. Mix lightly so that the batter coats the vegetables.
  3. Deep fry the vegetables in hot oil until crisp. Remove, drain on absorbent paper and keep aside.

For the honey 5-spice sauce

  1. Heat the honey over a low flame in a small pan.
  2. Add the soya sauce, chinese 5 spice powder, sugar and salt, mix well and keep aside.

How to proceed

    How to proceed
  1. Heat 2 tablespoons of oil and add the spring onion whites, garlic, ginger and sauté for a few seconds.
  2. Add the dry red chillies and green chillies and sauté till the red chillies turn brown.
  3. Add the schezuan sauce, honey-5 spice sauce and salt and cook for a few seconds.
  4. Toss in the crispy fried vegetables and spring onion greens, mix well and serve immediately.

Tips
  1. Do not cook for a long time after adding the vegetables as the vegetables as they will get soggy.
