Quick Vanilla Ice- Cream

The use of fresh cream and milk powder gives the ice-cream a rich consistency without requiring you to boil and condense the milk for long.Just mix all the ingredients together, freeze and blend. It’s as simple as that.

Hi, can I use any other airtight container other than aluminium?

Tarla Dalal    It is preferable to use an aluminium container, however you can use any other container. But in plastic, the ice-cream doesn''t set well as compared to an aluminium container.

Yes I did try the recipe... but after the 2nd time freezing of 10 hours, d Icecream is set but not soft at all... it’s as hard as ever, impossible to scoop out... any idea how to make it soft?

Tarla Dalal    Hi, when the first freezing is done, you need to blend it while it is semi set, till smooth. Then you freeze it for the second, make sure it is in an airtight container and sealed well. When you need to serve, keep it at room temperature for 5 minutes and then scoop it.

Ma''am, it''s been more than 12 hrs my icecream is not set. A layer of ice has formed however inside it is still flowy. What should i do? How do i thicken it?

Tarla Dalal    Hi, Make sure you have covered the container really well, that is why ice crystals have formed. Now, just churn it again, and put in an air tight container, it will set.
