    1. In a bowl out 3/4 cup whole wheat flour (gehun ka atta).

    2. Add 1 tbsp melted ghee.

    3. Add salt to taste.
    4. Add enough water to make a dough, about 1/3 cup.
    5. Knead into a soft dough.
    6. Cover and keep aside for 15 minutes.
    7. Divide it into 6 equal portions.

    1. Heat 2 tsp ghee in a broad non-stick pan.
    2. Add 3/4 cup grated fresh coconut.
    3. Cook on a medium flame for 5 to 7 minutes, while stirring continuously.
    4. Remove from the flame, add 1/2 cup powdered sugar.
    5. Add 1/2 tsp cardamom (elaichi) powder.
    6. Add 1/2 tsp nutmeg (jaiphal) powder.
    7. Mix well.
    8. Divide the stuffing into 6 equal portions and keep aside.

    1. Dust a rolling board with whole wheat flour. 
    2. Flatten the dough ball with your palms and place on the board for rolling.  
    3. Roll out each portion into a 150 mm (6") diameter circle using a little whole wheat flour for rolling.

    2. Place roti on hot greased tava.  
    3. Cook for 10  seconds on high flame for each side to semi cook the roti.
    4. Place a roti on a flat, dry surface, spread a portion of the prepared stuffing on half of the roti.
    5. Fold it over to make a semi-circle.
    6. Heat a non-stick tava (griddle) and grease it with ghee.
    7. Place the suffted roti on the tava.
    8. Cook the roti for 10 seconds and grease the top. Remember to press down with a spatula when cooking the roti every time. This ensures the stuffing gets well cooked all over.
    9. Flip over.
    10. Again grease the roti and cook for 10 seconds.
    11. Flip and your roti is ready.
    12. Serve immediately.

    1. You can vary the amounts of nutmeg and sugar as per your taste.
    2. Remember to cook the roti on a high flame till it is semi-cooked. Cook only for 10 to 15 seconds till light brown spots appear. 
    3. After stuffing it, the roti has to be cooked on a medium flame. 
    4. Remember to press the roti with a spatula while cooking. This ensures that the roti gets well-cooked all over.

What a unique recipe!!! I have prepared this roti quite a few times and everyone loves it especially my kids who eagerly wait for me to prepare it.
