Ingredients

For The Cupcakes
135 gms plain flour (maida)
35 gms wheat flour
1 tsp coco powder
1/2 cup green peas puree
3/4 cup curds (dahi)
1/4 cup refined oil
2 1/2 tbsp milk
125 gms granulated sugar
1/2 tsp vanilla essence
6-8 drops green colour
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 cup crushed walnuts (akhrot) or crushed cashewnuts (kaju)
1 tbsp raisins (kismis) (optional)

For Cream Cheese Frosting
1 cup cream cheese
3 cups icing sugar
1/2 cup butter (softened)
1 tsp vanilla essence
2-3 drops green colour

For The Garnish
crushed walnuts (akhrot) or butterscotch
Method

For the cupcakes

    For the cupcakes
  1. Boil green peas and blend it to make puree. Set aside.
  2. Sieve maida, wheat flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Keep aside.
  3. In a mixing bowl add curd, sugar, milk and refined oil. Mix well until sugar is dissolved.
  4. Add peas puree and vanilla essence.
  5. Add the sieved dry ingredients (step 2). Mix well to form a soft creamy batter.
  6. Add in the dry fruits.
  7. Take 1/4th of the batter in a separate bowl and add sieved coco powder and mix well.
  8. In the remaining 3/4th batter add green colour.
  9. Spoon both the batters alternatively into the greased muffin tins. Taking 2 spoons of green batter and 1 spoon of coco batter.
  10. Take a toothpick or knife to make swirls in each muffin tin.
  11. Bake all the cupcakes for 15-20 minutes in a pre-heated oven at 180 deg C or until the toothpick inserted at the centre comes out clean.
  12. Let the cupcakes cool completely before frosting. You may refrigerate for 1 hour before frosting.

  1. Beat cream cheese and softened butter.
  2. Add half of the sugar and beat it.
  3. Add in vanilla essence and green colour.
  4. Now add the remaining sugar and beat till it reaches spreadable consistency.
  5. Fill this frosting in a piping bag and decorate your cupcakes.
  6. Sprinkle crushed walnuts or butterscotch on the cupcakes for garnishing.
  7. Refrigerate and serve.
