How to make chocolate brownie

  1. To prepare eggless chocolate brownie recipe | eggless chocolate brownie with condensed milk | Indian style chocolate brownie in an oven | in an oven, preheat oven at 180°C (360°F). Grease a 225 mm. X 125 mm. (9” x 5”) baking tray with melted butter.
  2. Then sprinkle some plain flour and tap to remove excess flour. This forms a non-stick layer which helps in easy removal of chocolate brownie. You may line the baking tray with parchment paper or aluminum foil if you don’t wish to dust it with flour.
  3. To make the eggless chocolate brownie mixture, in a deep bowl take the melted butter. It gives a rich flavor and chewy texture to the brownie. You can melt the butter in a microwave or on the stovetop. Just heat the butter until it is just melted and bring down to room temperature before adding.
  4. Add condensed milk. It not only sweetens our brownie but, also works as an egg replacement in this eggless chocolate brownie recipe. It keeps the brownie moist and soft.
  5. Mix well using a spatula.
  6. Add curd. Homemade curd is generally watery, try to get rid of extra water and make use of nice thick curd for this cake recipe. If not using homemade curd, buy greek yoghurt from the market for best results.
  7. Add vanilla essence. Instead of vanilla essence, you can use vanilla powder or scrape a fresh vanilla pod. Any other essence of your choice like coffee powder, cinnamon powder, mint extract can also be used for flavoring.
  8. Mix well using a whisk or till no lumps remain. Spatula won’t combine the curd well so, make sure you use a whisk at this stage.
  9. Add the melted chocolate. The deep chocolate flavor, color, and taste of these eggless brownies come from the melted chocolate so, make use of the best quality chocolate slab or pellets. Many people even use a combination of cocoa powder and melted chocolate.
  10. Mix well using a spatula.
  11. Add the plain flour. If using old flour then sift to remove any lumps and impurities before using.
  12. Add baking soda and baking powder. Both baking powder and baking soda are leavening agents that help in improving the texture of eggless fudgy chocolate brownies.
  13. Fold gently using a spatula.
  14. Add the chocolate cubes to fourfold the chocolate flavor. You can even use chocolate chips or any nuts to perk up the fudgy chocolate brownies.
  15. Mix well. Brownies are gooey and fudgy hence the mixture will be on the thicker side. Take care not to overmix. There is no need of adding any extra liquid to the mixture but curd thickness may vary so if the batter is too thick then add 1-2 tbsp of water.
  16. Transfer the chocolate-plain flour mixture into a greased and dusted baking tray of 225 mm. X 125 mm. (9” x 5”).
  17. Tap it lightly and even out the top.
  18. Bake it in a pre-heated oven at 180°C (360°F) for 20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist clumps stuck to it. If the toothpick comes out clean, your chocolate brownie is overbaked and might become dry.
  19. Remove from the oven and cool completely. And loosen the sides of the cake using a knife.
  20. Demould the eggless chocolate brownie | eggless chocolate brownie with condensed milk | Indian style chocolate brownie in an oven | carefully on a chopping board.
  21. Cut the homemade eggless chocolate brownies into equal squares. Serve the chocolate brownie warm or use it as required. You can sprinkle some powdered sugar on top and serve the chocolate brownie for dessert along with a scoop of vanilla ice-cream. You can decorate the outside if you wish, with cream or icing and serve. Similarly, you can prepare Brownie Sundae, Sizzling Brownie or Brownie and Strawberry Surprise using the decadent chocolate brownies.
