The Brownie and Strawberry Surprise, though ready in minutes, has an exotic touch about it and a creamy richness that pampers kids and adults alike.
Notes on Brownie strawberry dessert. 1. For a chocolaty custard, you can add cocoa powder to the pan while boiling. For a strawberry custard, you can buy strawberry custard powder or add strawberry compote/squash to the milk while boiling.

For the custard- Combine the custard powder and ¼ cup of cold milk in a small bowl and mix well till the mixture is smooth and no lumps remain.
- Combine the remaining 1¾ cups of milk and sugar in a broad pan, mix well and bring to boil.
- Add the custard-milk mixture, mix well and cook on a medium flame for 2 to 3 minutes, while stirring continuously.
- Remove from the flame and keep aside to cool completely.
For the chocolate sauce- Combine the chocolate and milk in a microwave safe bowl and microwave on high for 2 minutes.
- Remove from the microwave, mix gently and keep aside to cool slightly.
How to proceed- To make the syrup combine the sugar and ¼ cup of water in a small bowl and mix well till the sugar dissolves completely.
- Place 4 brownie pieces on a plate and pour 1½ tbsp of the prepared sugar syrup on each brownie. Keep aside for 10 minutes so the brownie pieces soak the sugar syrup well.
- Combine the prepared chocolate sauce with ¼ cup of milk, mix well and keep aside.
- Combine the prepared custard with beaten whipped cream and vanilla essence, fold gently and keep aside.
- Place 2 brownie pieces in a serving glass, put 3 to 4 strawberry slices and top it with ¼ cup of custard. Again put 3 to 4 strawberry slices and top with 2 tbsp chocolate of sauce followed by 3 to 4 strawberry slices, 2 tbsp of custard and 1 tbsp of chocolate sauce.
- Finally sprinkle 1 tbsp of mixed nuts over it and top it with a strawberry slice.
- Repeat the steps 5 and 6 to make 1 more glass of brownie and strawberry surprise.
- Refrigerate the brownie and strawberry surprise for atleast 1 hour and serve chilled.

In a small bowl, take custard powder. If you don’t have custard powder, you can still make the custard by substituting corn starch for the powder and adding some vanilla flavouring to the milk.

Mix well till the mixture is smooth and no lumps remain.

Add the remaining 1¾ cups of milk in a broad pan or a saucepan.

Add sugar.

Mix well and bring to boil.

When it comes to a boil, add the custard-milk mixture.

Microwave on HIGH for 2 minutes. If you do not have a microwave, melt the chocolate using the double boiler technique. To create a double boiler, add about 1 to 2 inches of water in the saucepan and put the pan on the stove on medium heat. Place the chocolate filled bowl on a double boiler. Cook till the chocolate melts, while stirring gently.

Remove from the microwave, mix gently and keep aside to cool slightly.

To make the sugar syrup, combine the sugar and ¼ cup of water in a small bowl and mix well till the sugar dissolves completely.

To assemble brownie and strawberry surprise, place 4 brownie pieces on a plate. This recipe of will help you make fresh homemade chocolate brownies.

Again put 3 to 4 strawberry slices.

Top with 2 tbsp chocolate sauce.

Followed by 3 to 4 strawberry slices.

Pour 2 tbsp of custard. You can even add other confectionery ingredients like ice-cream, jelly, sprinkles, crispies to perk up the brownie and strawberry surprise.

Drizzle 1 tbsp of chocolate sauce. At any stage, you may increase or decrease the quantity of custard, chocolate sauce, strawberry slices as per your preference.

Finally, sprinkle 1 tbsp of mixed nuts over it. They add a nice crunch to the brownie and strawberry surprise.

Top it with a strawberry slice.

Repeat steps 9 to 18 and make 1 more glass of brownie and strawberry surprise.
