    1. what is  chola methi dhokla made off?  Gujarati chola dhokla is made from 1/2 cup chola dal (split cow peas), 1/4 cup finely chopped fenugreek (methi)leaves, 1/2 tsp green chilli paste, salt to taste and 1 tsp fruit salt. See below image of list of ingredients for chola methi dhokla.

    1. Chola dal is an excellent source of potassium and also rich in soluble fiber which helps to eliminate cholesterol from the body, thus protecting the heart. soaking of chola dal

 

    1. First clean the chola dal and remove any kind of stone or dirt.  Put 1/2 cup chola dal (split cow peas) into a bowl. 
    2. Put chola dal in a glass bowl and add enough water to soak. 
       
    3. Cover and keep aside to soak for 8 hours or overnight.  
    4. Next day, wash and then drain out the water using a strainer.

    1. To make chola methi dhokla recipe | Gujarati chola dhokla | healthy chola methi dhokla |  in a mixer, put the soaked and drained chola dal.
    2. Add ½ cup of water.
    3. Blend till smooth.
    4. Transfer the mixture into a deep bowl.
    5. Add 1/4 cup finely chopped fenugreek (methi) leaves.
    6. Add 1/2 tsp green chilli paste.
    7. Add salt to taste. We added 1/2 tsp salt.
    8. Mix well.
    9. Just before steaming the dhoklas, add the fruit salt.
    10. Add 2 tsp of water over fruit salt.
    11. Mix gently.
    12. Pour the batter into a greased 175 mm. (7”) diameter thali. Shake the thali clockwise to spread it evenly 
    13. Place the thali in a steamer.
    14. Steam in a steamer for 12 minutes or till the dhoklas are cooked.
    15. Cut into square or diamond shaped equal pieces using a sharp knife.
    16. Put chola methi dhokla | Gujarati chola dhokla | healthy chola methi dhokla |  in a serving plate.
    17. Serve chola methi dhokla | Gujarati chola dhokla | healthy chola methi dhokla |  immediately with green chutney.

i followed the recipe step by step... but it has turned out to be like khichdi but not dhokla.... dnt know what went wrong

Easy recipe. I modified it and made dhoklas right after grinding the dal. Only added soda, did not add baking powder. You can also add spinach or cilantro in place of methi or add all 3 greens to make it more healthy.

Walnuts has so many high nutrient values in itself. This i learnt from Tarla Mam''s this article. Definitely will add at least small quantity in our daily morning diet. I tried making Date and Walnut Balls. taste greats.

A very simple and interesting recipe of date walnut balls I made this morning, was finished by my both kids. They liked the balls very much. Best way to add such healthy nuts in their diet instead of giving them plain nuts to eat. Planning to make apple crumble and i am sure they will like this too. Even will try tomato walnut salad for my husband who is very much healthy conscious. Valuable information about walnut and recipes of dip, dressing, pudding etc to make with it.
