  2. Mix well and keep aside to soak it for 30 minutes.
  3. Heat half quantity of ghee in a deep pan, add raisins and cashews. Sauté on a medium flame for a minute.
  4. Add rava, mix well and cook on a medium flame for 2 to 3 minutes.
  5. Add sugar and cook on a medium flame for 2 to 3 minutes until the sugar melts, while stirring continuously.
  6. Add the soaked saffron mixture and mix well. Add 2 cups of hot water. Keep mixing and cook on a medium flame for 3 to 4 minutes, while stirring continuously.
  7. Once the semolina is perfectly cooked, add cardamom powder and the remaining ghee. Mix well and cook further for 1 to 2 minutes.
  8. Serve kesari bhaat immediately.

I made Kesari bhaat when we were craving dessert post dinner. Very simple to make. I didn''t add the food color though.
