Here is a healthy powder made with sesame seeds that can be mixed with rice and til oil and served with papads, for a quick and tasty treat.

Method

  1. Heat the oil in a small kadhai, add the sesame seeds, dry coconut, red chillies and asafoetida, mix well and sauté on a slow flame for 5 to 7 minutes, while stirring continuously. Keep aside.
  2. When cool, transfer the mixture into a mixer jar, add salt and blend to a coarse powder.
  3. Store in an air-tight container and use as required.
