Ingredients

For Double Chocolate Chip Muffins
1 3/4 cups plain flour (maida)
1/2 cup cocoa powder
2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp baking soda
a pinch of salt
1 1/4 cups castor sugar
1 cup milk
1 whole egg
1/2 cup melted butter
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 cup chocolate chips
Method

    For double chocolate chip muffins
  1. To make double chocolate chip muffins recipe, in a deep bowl, sieve plain flour, cocoa powder, baking powder and baking soda.
  2. Add castor sugar, mix well and keep aside.
  3. In another deep bowl, combine milk, egg, butter and vanilla extract. Whisk well.
  4. Now gradually add the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients mixture and gently whisk it to form a lump free batter.
  5. Add ¾ cup chocolate chips and gently fold in using a spatula. Pour 2 tbsp of the batter into each muffin liner.
  6. Sprinkle the remaining chocolate chips on each muffin and bake them in a pre-heated oven at 180° c (360° f) for 15 minutes.
  7. Remove from the oven, keep aside to cool slightly and de-mould it.
  8. Serve the double chocolate chip muffins warm or store in an air-tight container and use as require within 2 days.
