Ingredients


For Chocolate Banana Cake
1 cup roughly chopped bananas
1/2 cup melted butter
1/2 cup castor sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 1/4 cups plain flour (maida)
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
a pinch of salt
1/2 cup chopped dark chocolate
1/4 cup chocolate chips

Method

For chocolate banana cake

  1. To make {span class="bold1"}chocolate banana cake recipe{/span}, in a deep bowl, mash the bananas well using a fork.
  2. Add melted butter, castor sugar, brown sugar, egg and vanilla extract. Whisk the mixture well until well combined.
  3. Sieve plain flour, baking powder and baking soda. Add a pinch of salt and chopped dark chocolate.
  4. Fold everything well using a spatula to make a lump free batter.
  5. Transfer the batter into the greased and lined tin. Sprinkle some chocolate chips on top.
  6. Bake in a pre-heated oven at 180°c (360°f) for 45 minutes. Insert a toothpick in the centre to check the doneness of the cake.
  7. Remove and cool the cake slightly. Demould it carefully and cut it into 12 equal slices.
  8. Serve the {span class="bold1"}chocolate banana cake{/span} immediately.
