Cheese with a dash of chilli flakes can do wonders to french bread, transforming it into a delicious starter that appeals to all. Adding a little milk when melting the cheese for the topping ensures that the cheese melts uniformly and gets a creamy consistency rather than becoming rubbery. Top the bread slices generously with the cheesy topping, and bake the arrangement to perfection, for an enjoyable snack.
Method- Soak the chillies in water. After 1/2 hour, take out the seeds and chop the chillies.
- Mix the cheese, milk and 1 tablespoon of water and cook on a slow flame until the cheese melts. Add the chopped chillies to the mixture.
- Cut the french bread diagonally, apply a little butter and spread the cheese mixture on top. Bake in a hot oven at 200 degree c (400 degree f) for 5 minutes.
- Serve hot.
