masala chana chaat is a tasty, tangy and easy variety of chaat snack made with hara chana (green chickpeas), spices, onions, tomatoes and lemon. It is famously sold on streets, beaches in India and at railway stations too.

Ingredients
For Masala Chana
1 cup hara chana (green chick peas) , soaked and boiled
2 tbsp butter
2 tsp finely chopped green chillies
1 cup finely chopped onion
1 cup finely chopped tomato
1/2 tsp chilli powder
1/2 tsp pav bhaji masala
2 tsp chaat masala
salt to taste
2 tsp lemon juice
2 tbsp finely chopped coriander (dhania)
Method
- To make masala chana, heat the butter in a broad non-stick pan, add the green chillies and sauté on a medium flame for a few seconds.
- Add the onions and sauté on a medium flame for 1 to 2 minutes or till the onions turn translucent.
- Add the tomatoes and sauté on a medium flame for 1 to 2 minutes.
- Add the chilli powder, pav bhaji masala and chaat masala, mix well and cook on a medium flame for 1 minute.
- Add the salt and hara chana, mix well and cook on a medium flame for 1 to 2 minutes, while stirring continuously.
- Add the lemon juice and coriander, mix well and cook on a medium flame for 1 to 2 minutes, while stirring continuously.
- Serve the masala chana hot.

I have always eaten this chaat when i was a kid on the streets of Mumbai...It is very chatpatta and great to serve for chaat parties...
