This Jain-friendly uncooked salsa recipe is an easy version of Mexican Salsa that tastes awesome, with the juicy succulence of tomatoes and spicy crunch of capsicum tinged with spices and herbs. We have removed the onion and garlic to make this an Indian style Jain salsa.

1 cup deseeded and finely chopped tomatoes
2 tbsp finely chopped capsicum
1/4 cup finely chopped coriander (dhania)
1/2 tsp finely chopped green chillies
1/2 tsp cumin seeds (jeera) powder
1/4 tsp dried oregano
1/2 tbsp lemon juice
salt to taste

  1. To make uncooked salsa, combine all the ingredients in a deep bowl and mash it lightly with a back of a spoon.
  2. Refrigerate the uncooked salsa till use.

I had some jain friends coming over for dinner and I was so confused what to make without using onions and garlic and I made this dip and served with corn chips and they all loved it.
