Ingredients

For Garlicky Methi Dhokli
2 tsp finely chopped garlic (lehsun)
3/4 cup finely chopped fenugreek leaves (methi)
1 cup besan (bengal gram flour)
1 1/2 tsp chilli powder
1 tsp coriander (dhania) powder
a pinch of asafoetida (hing)
salt to taste
1 tsp oil for greasing
Method

  1. To make garlicky methi dhokli, in a deep bowl, combine besan, fenugreek, garlic, chilli powder, coriander powder, asafetida, salt and 1/2 cup water. Mix well till no lumps remain.
  2. Grease a 175 mm. (7”) diameter thali using ½ tsp of oil, pour half the batter into it and steam in a steamer for 8 minutes.
  3. Repeat step 2 to make 1 more thali.
  4. Cut the garlicky methi dhokli into diamond shaped pieces and serve immediately.

Instead of besan anything else for healthier option ?? Also instead of chillie powder can we add green chillies paste ?

Tarla Dalal    Thank You Sameeta for your review. Besan is healthy but if you do not wish to use only that you can try with equal portions of whole wheat flour and besan, however we have not tried it. You can add green chilli paste instead of chilli powder...
