A novel soup recipe, Indian split pea soup is a vegetable and lentil soup with a difference. The split pea is boiled along with spices and tomatoes to create a perfect healthy winter soup recipe.

Method


  1. Wash and drain dal.
  2. Place in saucepan with water and turmeric and bring to a boil. reduce heat and cover. simmer in low heat for 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 hours. remove from heat.
  3. Place peas and liquid into blender. add lemon juice and rest of the ingredients except the yogurt,cucumber and the scallions.
  4. Dice the cucumber and the scallions just before serving.
  5. Garnish with it and a swirl of yogurt.
