What is Amaranth?

Amaranth is thought to be a grain like wheat or rice but it is not. It comes in 60 different species and Amaranth is the common name. Amaranth seeds or Amaranth are super healthy to eat and are gluten free. Great for those on the Paleo Diet. In India, its called Ramdana in Hindi and used extensively during religious festivals for fasting. Ramdana means God's seed and hence its used on festive occasions.
