Ingredients
2 cups crushed sweet corn kernels (makai ke dane)
2 cups ghee
1 tsp cardamom (elaichi) powder
5 almond or cashewnut

2 cups sugar
1 1/2 cups water
Method

  1. Combine the sugar and water and allow it to coil until the sugar melts. Remove from the flame and keep aside.

How to proceed

  1. Heat the ghee in a thick-bottomed pan and add the corn and stir continuously,on a slow flame till the corn turns brown in colour. This needs time and patience. Do not rush through this step.
  2. Add the sugar syrup. Mix well and allow it to cook till the halwa is of dropping consistency.
  3. Add the cardamom and cook till it dissolves.
  4. Serve hot garnished with almonds
