This nutty and chocolaty pizza is perfect for kids, and kindles awake the childishness in adults too! Made quickly and easily with a spread of Nutella and a topping of finely chopped nuts, the best chocolate pizza has an exotic hazelnut flavour, which intensifies upon baking, making it impossible to resist!
The pizza base gives the perfect bite, while the nuts lend the necessary crunchiness. While we have used Nutella, you can also use homemade chocolate sauce. It is ready in less than 10 minutes.
This simple and quick, but elegant chocolate dessert can be served at the end of a meal or even enjoyed at tea time or snack time.
Tips for chocolate pizza. 1. Prefer to use a thin pizza base only. Thick pizza base will not give the same mouthfeel. 2. Remember to serve immediately to enjoy its crunch.

For the homemade pizza dough recipe, in a small bowl take dry yeast.
-
Add some sugar.
-
Add 2 tbsp of lukewarm water. Dip your finger in water to check if it’s lukewarm or no before adding. Water that's too hot can damage or kill the yeast.
-
Mix well.
-
Cover with a lid and keep aside for 5 minutes. The rising time will vary as per the climatic conditions and the quality of yeast.
-
After 5 minutes, the yeast mixture will look like this. You can see a frothy layer on top which indicates our yeast has been activated and is ready to use. If you don’t see a creamy frothy layer then discard the yeast and start over again.
-
In a deep bowl, take plain flour.
-
Add yeast-water mixture.
-
Pour a little olive oil.
-
Furthermore, add salt. To make a flavored pizza dough, you can toss in a little garlic powder, oregano or dried basil at this stage. You can even try out this Herb Pizza Base.
-
Using enough water combine all the ingredients.
-
Knead into a soft, smooth dough. Shape the dough into a proper round using both your hands while tucking the edges at the bottom. If you have a stand mixer with a dough hook attachment, then make use of it to prepare the pizza dough.
-
Cover the dough with a wet muslin cloth and keep aside for 1 hour in a warm place or till the dough is double in size. If you don’t plan to use the dough for a day, place it in the fridge straight away; take it out 3-4 hrs before using and then continue the rest of the procedure.
-
After an hour, the dough will rise and resemble this.
-
Press the dough lightly to remove the air.
-
Pour a little olive oil on the dough and also, grease your palms with it.
-
Knead the dough of homemade pizza dough again to form a smooth pizza dough.
-
Divide the dough of homemade pizza dough into 3 equal portions.
-
To make pizza base at home, roll a portion into a 175 mm. (7”) diameter circle with the help of plain flour. While rolling the portion of the dough, keep the other 2 portions covered with the wet muslin cloth so that they do not dry up. If you want to get air pockets and a crisp dough, then don’t use a rolling pin and stretch the dough using your hands. This will prevent the popping of air bubbles.
-
Prick the circle evenly using a fork so that it doesn’t puff up.
-
Similarly, roll and prick out the remaining 2 circles and place all the 3 homemade pizza base on a baking tray. If you do not have an oven, then refer this recipe to make basic pizza base without oven.
