The batter of Indian style eggless waffle is quite easy to make, and uses only common ingredients. eggless waffle recipe is made from plain flour, cornflour, baking powder, sugar, dry yeast and butter. You just need to be careful about the temperature of the water used to activate the yeast. It must just be warm – not hot or cold. For eggless waffle- To make eggless waffle, combine the dry yeast, sugar and 3 tbsp of warm water in a small bowl and mix well. Cover with a lid and keep aside for 10 minutes.
- Combine the plain flour, cornflour, baking powder and salt in a deep bowl and mix well.
- Add the yeast mixture, powdered sugar, melted butter, milk, vanilla extract or vanilla essence mix well to make a smooth thick batter. Cover it with a lid and keep aside for 10 more minutes.
- Pre-heat the waffle iron, grease it with little butter.
- Pour ¼th of the batter to spread it evenly into 2 waffle moulds and cook till it is brown from both the sides. It will take 5 to 6 minutes for the waffle to cook.
- Repeat step 5 to make 6 more eggless waffle in 3 more batches.
- Serve the eggless waffle immediately topped with butter or honey.

If you want, you can use instant dry yeast in the same quantity and follow the same instructions.

In a small bowl put 1 1/2 tsp dry yeast.

Add 1 1/4 th cup warm milk.

Add 1/4 tsp vanilla essence.

Mix well to make a smooth thick batter.

Cover it with a lid and keep aside for 10 more minutes.

Preheat the waffle machine.

Grease the waffle maker with little butter. Grease the bottom plate and top plate with butter. Coat waffle iron evenly with butter or it will be hard to remove the cooked waffles.

Pour 1/4 of the batter to spread it evenly into 2 waffle moulds.

Cook in a waffle maker for 5 to 6 minutes or till the waffles are crispy. Note that cooking time will differ on each appliance. The best is to check by opening the machine and checking to see if the waffle is done. Repeat with the remaining batter to make 6 more waffles. We will get 8 waffles from this.
