3/4 cup uncooked rice (chawal) or
2 tbsp ghee
2 to 3 pinches asafoetida (hing)
1/4 tsp turmeric powder (haldi)
To Be Mixed Together In Masala Mixture
2 tsp coriander-cumin seeds (dhania-jeera) powder
1 tsp sugar
1 tsp chilli powder
2 tbsp grated coconut
2 tbsp chopped coriander (dhania)
a pinch of asafoetida (hing)
salt to taste

In a bowl put 2 tsp coriander-cumin seeds (dhania-jeera) powder.

Add 1 tsp sugar.

Add 1 tsp chilli powder.

Add 2 tbsp grated fresh coconut.

Add 2 tbsp chopped coriander (dhania).

Add a pinch of asafoetida (hing).

Add salt to taste. We used 3/4 tsp salt.

Mix well.

In a bowl put 2 tsp coriander-cumin seeds (dhania-jeera) powder.

Microwave on high for 1 minute.

Cover with a lid.

Microwave on high for 5 minutes.

Stir.

Again microwave on high for 5 more minutes.

Stir again. You can see that the khichdi is almost cooked.

Finally microwave for 2 minutes.
