Ingredients
For Oats Murukku
1 cup quick cooking rolled oats
1/4 cup roasted chana dal (daria)
1/2 cup whole wheat flour (gehun ka atta)
1 tsp ginger (adrak) green chilli paste
3/4 tsp red chilli powder
1/2 tbsp sesame seeds (til)
1/2 tbsp black sesame seeds (kala til)
salt to taste
1 tsp oil
3/4 cup water
Method
For oats murukku
- To make oats murukku recipe, in a mixer add oats and daria and blend it to a smooth powder.
- Transfer the powder into a deep bowl, add in all the remaining ingredients and knead into a soft dough using approx. ¾ cup of water.
- Divide the dough into 2 equal portions and put 1 portion of the dough into a greased chakli press and cover with a lid.
- Press out 50 mm. (2”) diameter round swirls of murukku on a lined baking baking tray.
- Bake all the murukku in a pre-heated oven at 180°c (360°f) for 15 minutes, turn them over and bake them again for 10 minutes.
- Cool the baked oats murukku completely and serve or store in an air-tight container and use as required.
