  2. Heat 2½ cups of water in a deep non-stick pan, add the oats, mix well cover it with a lid and cook on a medium flame 10 minutes or till it is soft. While stirring occasionally.

This is a great idea to cook steel cut oats in a batch and use it for 5 days. Daily i take a small portion of Oats and just add a fruit of my choice like apple or strawberry and some almond milk. Steel cut oats is far more healthier than regular quick rolled oats.
