Ingredients
For Baked Masala Puri
1 cup whole wheat flour (gehun ka atta)
1/2 tsp roasted and crushed cumin seeds (jeera)
1/4 tsp freshly ground black pepper (kalimirch)
1/2 tsp chilli powder
a pinch of asafoetida (hing)
1/4 tsp turmeric powder (haldi)
2 tsp oil
salt to taste
3 1/4 tsp oil for kneading and greasing

In a deep bowl put 1 cup whole wheat flour (gehun ka atta).

Add 1/2 tsp coarsely crushed cumin seeds (jeera).

Add 1/4 tsp freshly ground black pepper (kalimirch).

Add 1/2 tsp chilli powder.

Add a pinch of asafoetida (hing).

Add 1/4 tsp turmeric powder (haldi).

Add 2 tsp oil.

Add salt to taste. We added 1/2 tsp salt.

Add enough water gradually to make a stiff dough. We added 1/4 cup water and then added 2 more tablespoons.

Knead into a stiff dough.

Add ¼ tsp of oil to the dough.

Dough kneaded again.

In a deep bowl put 1 cup whole wheat flour (gehun ka atta).

Flatten the dough with your palms.

Roll a portion of the dough into a 75 mm. (3”) diameter thin circle on a rolling board.

Prick each puri evenly with a fork at regular intervals. Pricking ensures that the puri won’t puff up and you will get crispy puri after baking.

Grease a baking tray using ¼ tsp of oil.

Arrange the puris on the baking tray leaving a gap between each puri.

Bake it in a pre-heated oven at 180°C (360°F) for 16 minutes. Flip them after 8 minutes.

Flip puris over with a pair of tongs.

Bake again for 8 minutes. Your puris are ready.

Cool baked puri for sev puri.

Healthy, tasty baked puris. Made from whole wheat flour and with only 1/2 tsp oil. Great also to use in bhel or just have with curds.

These puris are little spicy and soo crispy... It is also healthy as it is baked and not fried.. It dosent take much time to bake as well.. In 10 minutes these healthy crispy puris are ready..

Not very time consuming, these masala puris can be enjoyed at any time of the day... This is one of the snack which can be carried to work too.
