For tomato omelette- To make tomato omelette, combine the besan, turmeric, garam masala, asafoetida, chilli powder, salt and ½ cup of water in a deep bowl, mix well using a whisk.
- Add all the remaining ingredients and mix well.
- Heat a non-stick tava (griddle) and grease it with ½ tsp of oil.
- Pour a ladleful of the batter on the tava (griddle) and spread in a circular motion to make a 125 mm. (5”) diameter circle.
- Cook on a medium flame, using ½ tsp of oil, till golden brown spots appear on both the sides.
- Repeat steps 3 to 5 to make 4 more tomato omelettes.
- Serve the tomato omelette immediately with green chutney and tomato ketchup.

For making the Tomato Omelette recipe, chop all the vegetables viz. tomatoes, onions, green chillies, ginger, coriander ready. Ensure everything is chopped finely or else you will find trouble in spreading the batter and the tomato cheela might tear.

For preparing the batter of eggless Tomato Omelette, in a deep bowl, take the besan. Gram flour is healthy and made using chana dal.

Add the garam masala. We have made homemade garam masala using this recipe of garam masala with detailed step by steps which is used to elevate the taste of this vegetarian omelette.

Whisk well and our Eggless Tomato Omelette batter is ready. The batter should be of medium consistency. If the batter is too thick then dilute with some water. If it is runny then add some besan and adjust the tomato omelette batter consistency.

For making the Tomato Omelette, Heat a non-stick tava (griddle) and grease it with ½ tsp of oil.

Pour a ladleful of the batter on the tava (griddle).

Spread in a circular motion to make a 125 mm. (5”) diameter circle.

Cook the tomato omelette on a medium flame. Pour ½ tsp of oil on top of the tomato omelette especially the edges.

Flip and cook till golden brown spots appear on both the sides.

Remove the Eggless Tomato Omelette in a serving plate.

Repeat steps 1 to 6 to make 4 more tomato omelettes.
