To make palak paneer toast, first make the palak paneer mixture. Heat the butter in broad non-stick pan, add the plain flour, mix well and cook on a medium flame for 1 minute, while stirring continuously using a whisk. Add the milk, salt and black pepper powder, mix well and cook on a medium flame for 2 minutes, while stirring continuously. Add the spinach purée, cheese and green chilies, mix well and cook on a medium flame for 3 minutes, while stirring continuously. Add the paneer and mix gently. Keep aside. Then place a toasted bread slice on a clean, dry surface, spread 2 tbsp of the prepared palak paneer mixture over it and spread it evenly. Repeat step 1 to make 9 more toasts. Serve immediately.

    1. Palak paneer toast is made of 1/4 cup spinach (palak) purée, 1 cup chopped paneer (cottage cheese), 1 tbsp butter, 1 tbsp plain flour (maida), 1 cup milk, 1 cup grated processed cheese, 2 tsp finely chopped green chilliessalt and freshly ground black pepper (kalimirch) to taste and 10 toasted bread slices.

How to make palak puree for palak paneer toast

 

    1. To make Spinach Puree, take a bunch of spinach, a bunch of spinach yeilds 3 cups of roughly chopped spinach and get rid of the the spinach stems. Choose spinach that has vibrant deep green leaves and stems with no signs of yellowing. The leaves should look fresh and tender, and not be wilted or bruised.     2. Add t1 tbsp plain flour (maida)

    12. Add 1 cup chopped paneer (cottage cheese). Do not chop paneer into very big pieces. However, do not finely chop it, else it might turn mushy. The paneer pieces are best if they are chopped into medium sized pieces. 
    13. Mix gently. You will realize that the mixture is not very thick nor very thin. Keep aside.

This combo of paneer and palak in a subzi is very popular and taste also really nice but when made with lots of cheese and topped on a toasted bread, the taste is really really great. I served this starter for parties and all enjoyed it and asked for the recipe for the same.
