Ingredients

For Masala Chana
1 cup hara chana (green chick peas) , soaked and boiled
2 tbsp butter
2 tsp finely chopped green chillies
1 cup finely chopped onions
1 cup finely chopped tomatoes
1/2 tsp chilli powder
1/2 tsp pav bhaji masala
2 tsp chaat masala
salt to taste
2 tsp lemon juice
2 tbsp finely chopped coriander (dhania)
Method

For masala chana

    For masala chana
  1. To make masala chana, heat the butter in a broad non-stick pan, add the green chillies and sauté on a medium flame for a few seconds.
  2. Add the onions and sauté on a medium flame for 1 to 2 minutes or till the onions turn translucent.
  3. Add the tomatoes and sauté on a medium flame for 1 to 2 minutes.
  4. Add the chilli powder, pav bhaji masala and chaat masala, mix well and cook on a medium flame for 1 minute.
  5. Add the salt and hara chana, mix well and cook on a medium flame for 1 to 2 minutes, while stirring continuously.
  6. Add the lemon juice and coriander, mix well and cook on a medium flame for 1 to 2 minutes, while stirring continuously.
  7. Serve the masala chana hot.

I have always eaten this chaat when i was a kid on the streets of Mumbai...It is very chatpatta and great to serve for chaat parties...
