Hello Ma''am, will definitely try the recipe. Can baking powder be used instead of soda bi- carbonate ? If we use a microwave instead of an oven, what would be the baking time ? Regards

Tarla Dalal    Hi Panchali, baking powder and baking soda both have different uses in the cake and cannot be substituted with each other. This cake recipe is using an oven, for microwave recipe please follow the linkhttps://www.tarladalal.com/Eggless-Chocolate-Cake-Using-Microwave--(-Cakes-and-Pastries-)-33304r

I tried this recipe four times. Everytime, the cake comes out hard and stick to the bottom of the pan. There is something wrong with this recipe. Please correct it.

I tried the recipe again. It was hard and crusty after 45 minutes of baking when the recipe calls for 60 minutes of baking. There is something seriously wrong with this recipe. Please correct it. I am quite a fan of Tarla Dalal recipes but there is something off about this one.

Tarla Dalal    Hi Divya, The time required to bake a cake differs from oven to oven. Apologies for your experience but, this recipe works perfectly for our oven.

I tried the rectified recipe above. The cake did not turn out well. It was overly moist and the butter was floating all around. I think quantity of melted butter used should be reduced to 3/4th or 2/3rd cup. Please confirm. Thank you.

Tarla Dalal    Hi Divya, We have used 1 cup butter only. This is a tried and tested recipe from our kitchen and it really works out. Mix together all the ingredients well with a spatula so the butter does not float.
