Preparation Time:
Makes 0.5 cup
Show me for cup

1 1/2 cups peeled and chopped apples
1/4 cup sugar
1 1/2 tsp lemon juice
cinnamon (dalchini) powder (optional)

  1. Combine the apple and sugar in a microwave safe bowl and microwave on high for 2 minutes.
  2. Remove from the microwave and add the lemon juice and cinnamon powder. Mix well and microwave on high for 2½ minutes.
  3. Cool and store refrigerated in an air-tight container.

  2. Substitute the apples for mashed strawberries to make fresh strawberry jam.
  3. The quantity of sugar to be used will depend on how sweet the strawberries are.
  4. The time taken to cook this jam will be slightly more than that for apple jam as the moisture content in strawberries is higher than that in apples.

Thanks to mrs dalal for this wonderful recipe.I tried it today and turned out to be yummy. This is an excellent recipe when fruits get wasted, we can replace apples to mixed fruits to make this yummy jam then it will be mixed fruit jam.

Amazing taste. The best thing about this recipe is how fast you can prepare it. I used less sugar coz the apples were sweet itself. Cinnamon and lemon give it a nice flavor. I just made it out of 1 apple, was just trying out the recipe. Love it, will be making it again.
