Raw Peanuts in Indian Cooking.

Peanut is not just another pulse! It holds a special place in the Indian kitchen. In fact, many people tend to allot one of the compartments of their masala box to the humble peanut as it is so frequently used in everyday cooking. not sure of this.

Peanut is readily available in grocery stores throughout the year. It is stocked abundantly in Indian kitchens and used in various ways. At the simplest, it can be boiled, seasoned with salt and enjoyed plain or with spices. 

This is ok You can make a yummy chaat-like snack out of it, by mixing in murmura, chopped tomatoes, onions and coriander, with a squeeze of lemon to deliver the required zing. This is a popular roadside snack sold in beaches and parks! This snack is made with roasted and salted peanuts to my knowledge.

From khichdi to vada, peanuts are used along with sago to provide the required crunch to complement the latter’s soft and chewy texture.
