1. Rice : Here are the pros for rice. Rice is a great source of complex carbohydrates, which is an important source of energy for our body. Rice is low in fibre and therefore a good option for people suffering from diarrhoea. What's not good in rice. Foods like rice are high in Glycemic index are not suitable for weight loss, heart patients,  diabetics as they affect the blood sugar control levels. 2. Ghee : We have used 1/4 cup ghee which is very high fat levels and small amouts consumed are healthy. Ghee is packed with Conjugated Linoleic acid (CLA) which has a lot of health benefits. Ghee is also loaded with butyrate which has proven to improve gut health.  

Can diabetics, heart patients and over weight individuals have ghee rice ?

No, this recipe is not good for diabetics, heart and weight loss. We have used rice + lots of ghee which does not work well for those who have health issues. 

We suggest the following khichdi options : buckwheat moong and vegetable khichdivitamin khichdifada ni khichdibohri khichdi and buckwheat and sprouts khichdi. Note that these khichdi recipes have ZERO rice used in them and are diabetic, heart friendly.

Can healthy individuals have ghee rice ?

No, far too much rice used and high on carbs. If you want to have this then have some protein and fibre with this rice. Use  low fat curds
