A spectacular preparation where a simple tovar dal combined with spinach that enhances the appearance and flavour of the dish. Recipe Description for Arhar ki Dal with Spinach, Punjabi Toovar Aur Palak ki Dal
- To make {span class="bold1"}arhar ki dal with spinach recipe{/span}, combine toor dal, tomato, turmeric powder and 2 cups of water in a pressure cooker.
- Pressure cook it on a medium flame for 3 whistles. Allow the steam to escape and then open the lid.
- Whisk the dal well and keep aside.
- Heat oil in a deep non-stick pan, add cumin seeds, mustard seeds, hing, curry leaves and onions.
- Sauté on a medium flame for 2 to 3 minutes. Add garlic and ginger-green chilli paste and mix well.
- Add the spinach and cook on a medium flame for 2 to 3 minutes, while stirring occasionally.
- Add the cooked dal, salt to taste along with 1 cup water. Mix well and cook on a medium flame for 4 to 5 minutes, while stirring occasionally.
- Serve {span class="bold1"}arhar ki dal with spinach{/span} hot garnished with coriander.
