Can I skip URAD dal or replace URAD dal with something else ?

Tarla Dalal    Urad dal has been added to give an authentic South Indian cuisine mouthfeel and flavour. If you wish you can avoid it. Alternatively replace it with cumin seeds.

Made this with diced fresh green beans (in season now). Added pieces of green chili. Yummy!
