This effective frozen Indian watermelon summer dessert is loaded with iron and significantly low on calories, as watermelon comprises more than 75 percent water and hence a cup of this satiating fruit has just 28 calories! That makes it a yes-yes ingredient for weight-watchers.
1 cup of chopped watermelon gives 5.85% of Recommended Daily Allowance (RDA) of Potassium which is required for regular pumping of heart and enhances HDL.

For Watermelon Slush
3 cups deseeded and chopped watermelon (tarbuj)
1/4 tsp roasted cumin seeds (jeera) powder
1/4 tsp black salt (sanchal)
Method
- To make watermelon slush, blend the watermelon in a mixer till smooth.
- Transfer it into a deep bowl, add roasted cumin seed (jeera) powder, black salt (sanchal) and mix well.
- Pour the watermelon mixture into a shallow aluminium container and cover it with an aluminium foil.
- Freeze it for approx. 10 to 12 hours or until it is firm.
- Remove it from the freezer and keep aside for 4 to 5 minutes.
- Scrape it with a fork.
- Serve healthy indian watermelon sorbet immediately in 3 individual glasses.
