For the vegetable roll- Heat 1 tbsp oil in a broad non-stick pan, add the ginger - garlic paste and green chillies and sauté on a medium flame for few seconds.
- Add the onions, capsicum, carrot, french beans and tomatoes, mix well and cook on a medium flame for 5 minutes, while stirring occasionally.
- Add the coriander, potato, rajma, chilli powder, garam masala, tomato ketchup, bread and salt and mix well and cook on a medium flame for 2 minutes, while stirring occasionally.
- Transfer it in a plate cool completely.
- Add the cheese and mix well with your hands.
- Divide the mixture into 5 equal portions and roll out each portion into a cylindrical roll.
- Heat a tava (griddle) and grease it with 1 tsp of oil. Place 3 on it rolls and cook it till they turn golden brown in colour from all sides.
- Repeat step 7 to cook 2 more rolls. Keep aside.
How to proceed to make vegetarian hot dog- Slit a hot dog roll from top and lightly scoop out the centre using your fingers, so as to form a hollow cavity. Keep the scooped portion of the bread aside.
- Spread 1 tbsp of the prepared mayo-chilli sauce evenly in the cavity.
- Place 1 vegetable roll in it and press it lightly.
- Drizzle 1 tsp of tomato ketchup and 1 tsp of mustard sauce evenly over the hot dog.
- Repeat steps 1 to 4 to make 4 more hot dogs.
- Serve the vegetarian hot dog immediately.

To make the vegetarian hot dog, we first have to make the vegetable mixture. For that, heat 1 tbsp of oil in a broad non-stick pan, add the ginger - garlic paste. Here is a detailed recipe on how to make ginger-garlic paste.
- Add the finely chopped green chillies for spice and sauté on a medium flame for few seconds. You can reduce or increase the amount of chillies in your dish, depending on how spicy you like it.
- Now add the onions. Onions add a beautiful flavor to all the vegetables.
- Also add the remaining vegetables with this. Add the capsicum. Here we have only used green capsicum, but you can use different colored capsicums as well.
- Now add the finely chopped carrot.
- Finally add the french beans and tomatoes. You can even use other vegetables like zucchini.
- Mix well and cook on a medium flame for 5 minutes, while stirring occasionally. The vegetables will be cooked and softened at this point.
- Now add the coriander.
- Add the boiled and mashed potato to the vegetables. This will give volume and texture to the hot dog.
- Also add the boiled and mashed rajma (kidney beans). For this, soak the rajma overnight and pressure cook it. Then drain the excess water and mash the beans with the help of a potato masher. You can even use any other type of beans for this recipe.

Now add the spices - chilli powder and garam masala. Both these masalas give a punch of flavor to the vegetable hot dog.
- Add the tomato ketchup for a slightly sweet taste.
- Finally add the bread and salt. The bread is broken into tiny pieces before adding. This provides the proper binding needed to form the hot dog sausages.
- Mix well and cook on a medium flame for 2 minutes, while stirring occasionally. It does not need to be cooked more as all the vegetables are already cooked and will be cooked again once shaped into sausages.
- Transfer the mixture to a plate and let it cool completely.
- Once the mixture cools completely, add the cheese and mix well with your hands till well incorporated.
- Divide the mixture into 5 equal portions.
- Roll a portion between your palms to form a cylindrical roll. Be careful as to not break the mixture. Repeat the same with the remaining portions of the mixture.
- Heat a tava (griddle) and grease it with 1 tsp of oil.
- Let the oil get hot and then place 3 vegetable rolls on it.
- Cook the rolls on all sides till they turn golden brown in colour. As the vegetables are already cooked, this will not take long.
- Repeat step 21 to cook 2 more rolls. Keep aside.

- Add the chilli sauce and tomato ketchup to it for a sweet-spicy flavor.
- Add the mixed dried herbs to the bowl. Mix well to form a sauce. Add a twist to this classic hot dog and use Schezwan Mayonnaise instead or even Green Mayonnaise.
- Slit a hot dog roll from top and lightly scoop out the centre using your fingers, so as to form a hollow cavity. The vegetable roll will be stuffed here in this cavity.
- Spread 1 tbsp of the prepared mayo-chilli sauce evenly in the cavity. You can increase or decrease the mayo according to your preference.
