mint chaas recipe chilled concoction is just the thing one needs on a hot summer afternoon. The key ingredients in mint chaas are curds, pudina and chilli paste. Here I have used fresh mint for a clear garden fresh taste.
mint chaas recipe is super quick and easy to make, also is different than regular chaas. Pudina and buttermilk both have cooling properties and them together would double the cooling properties. Make this healthy mint chaas part of your meals as mint is super healthy. Mint (pudina) being an anti-inflammatory reduces the inflammation in the stomach and shows a cleansing effect.
We have this luscious mint chaas by combining cleaned mint leaves, curd, cumin seed powder, green chili paste, black salt and blend till smooth and frothy. Further, add chilled water and blend again. Serve spicy Punjabi mint chaas immediately with mint garnished on top.
Have a hearty meal of dal, chawal, rotis and subzi followed by a glass of spicy Punjabi mint chaas as it also aids digestion.

Ingredients
For Mint Chaas
1 cup fresh curd (dahi)
1/4 cup chopped mint leaves (phudina)
1 tsp cumin seeds (jeera) powder
1/2 tsp green chilli paste
1/4 tsp black salt (sanchal)
salt to taste
For The Garnish
a few mint leaves (pudina)
Method
Mint chaas
- To make mint chaas, combine all the ingredients in a blender and blend till smooth and frothy.
- Add 1½ cups of chilled water and blend for another 1 minute.
- Pour equal quantities of the mint chaas into 3 individual glasses and serve immediately garnished with mint leaves.

Remove the rotten leaves i.e leaves with blisters as well as black, yellow or orange spots and chop off the roots of the mint bunch. Pick the fresh leaves from the stems and discard the stems.

Wash the mint sprigs under running water to get rid of any dirt and other impurities.

Collect all the leaves in one place on the chopping board and roughly chop the leaves to make it easier for blending. Keep aside.

In a blender, take 1 cup fresh curds. Curd is full of amazing health benefits. Here are some benefits of dahi.

Add the chopped mint leaves to it.

Now, add the jeera powder. Roasting cumin seeds before crushing it into a powder enhances the taste of the jeera powder.

Add the green chillies paste. Also, you can add ginger paste to add more zing.

Add the salt and black salt. If you are fasting, then substitute with rock salt.

Combine all the ingredients in a blender and blend till smooth and frothy.

Add 1? cups of chilled water.

Blend one more time and your frothy phudina chaas is ready!
