For bajra porridge for babies- To make bajra porridge for babies , combine the dates and 2 tbsp of warm water in a bowl and keep aside to soak for 10 minutes.

- Add the dates purée and ¾ cup of water, mix well using a whisk and cook on a medium flame for 1 minute, while stirring continuously.

Variation: jowar porridge- Use ¼ cup of jowar flour instead of bajra flour and proceed as per the recipe.

As the colour of the bajra flour changes to light brown, add the prepared dates puree. The pleasant aroma of the bajra flour upon roasting is an indication that the flour has been cooked well.

Add ¾ cup of water. Adjust the quantity of water to get the porridge consistency. The amount of water may be a tbsp more or less depending on the quality of the flour.

Mix well using a whisk immediately.
