BUYING MILK NEEDS SOME THOUGHT TOO

BUYING MILK NEEDS SOME THOUGHT TOO
M
ilk comes in different packaging, like tetra packs, bottles, plastic bags, and in ‘loose’ from local milk vendors. When buying tetra pack milk, look out for the manufacturing and expiry dates, which is usually six months from the date of manufacturing. The tetra pack should not be torn, compressed or puffed, as these indicate spoilage of milk.
When buying the milk available in plastic bags, check the expiry date, which is usually only one or two days from the date of packaging. It is best to boil the milk as soon as it is bought, or to store it in the milk tray of your refrigerator till use.
The milk available from local milk vendors, should be bought in a clean container and strained as soon as it is bought as it might contain dirt. Boil this milk as soon as it is bought, cool, and then refrigerate. Use within a day or two.
