Nutri jam is a sweet jam recipe with beetroots and tomatoes. Quite an unique combination of beetroots with tomatoes in this jam makes it a healthy spread recipe for breads and can even be used as topping for cakes.

Ingredients

1/4 kg beetroot
1/2 kg tomatoes
1 kg sugar
1 tsp citric acid
essence (optional)
water if required
Method


  1. Wash and grate the beet. cook in a cooker till they are cooked.
  2. Wash tomatoes. put them in warm water for half-an hour. remove the skin and blend in a mixer. keep aside.
  3. Heat the kadai. put the beet and tomatoes. mix well.
  4. Keep stirring till the jam is thick in consistency.
  5. Now add sugar. mix well.
  6. When it’s almost ready add citric acid crystals.
  7. Add essence if desired.

Can we replace citric acid with lemon juice, if yes, how much lemon juice should we use against 1 tsp of citric acid? Thanks and regards,
