Ingredients

For Mirchi Pakora
10 bhavnagri chillies

To Be Mixed Into A Masala Powder
2 tsp chaat masala
2 tsp freshly ground black pepper (kalimirch)
1 tsp salt

To Be Mixed Into A Batter (using 3/4 Cup Of Water)
1 cup besan (bengal gram flour)
2 tbsp rice flour (chawal ka atta)
1 tsp chilli powder
1/2 tsp turmeric powder (haldi)
1/4 tsp asafoetida (hing)
1 tbsp finely chopped coriander (dhania)
2 pinches of baking soda
salt to taste
1 tbsp hot oil

For mirchi pakora

    For mirchi pakora
  1. To make mirchi pakora, wash and clean bhavnagri chillies and make a long slit in the centre.
  2. Carefully remove the seeds and discard them.
  3. Stuff each chilli with little masala powder and press it lightly. Keep aside.
  4. Heat the oil in a deep non-stick pan, dip each stuffed chilli into the besan batter till it coats the chilli well and deep fry in hot oil on a slow flame till they turn golden brown in colour from all the sides.
  5. Serve the mirchi pakora immediately.

  3. Remove the seeds and discard them.

  1. In a small bowl, add 2 tsp chaat masala.
  2. Add 2 tsp freshly ground black pepper (kalimirch).
  3. Add 1 tsp salt.
  4. Mix well. Keep aside.

  1. For the batter, add 1 cup besan (bengal gram flour) in a deep bowl. 
  2. Add 2 tbsp rice flour (chawal ka atta). This adds the necessary crispness to the pakoda.
  3. Add 1 tsp chilli powder.
  4. Add ½ tsp turmeric powder (haldi).
  5. Add ¼ tsp asafoetida (hing).
  6. Add 1 tbsp finely chopped coriander (dhania).
  7. Add 2 pinches of baking soda and salt to taste.
  8. Add 1 tbsp hot oil. This helps to make the pakora crispy.
  9. Add 1/2 cup of water.
  10. Mix well using a whisk till no lumps remain. The batter has to be very smooth. Keep aside.

  2. Heat oil in deep pan and dip each stuffed chilli in besan batter till it coats the chilli well.
