Makes 11 to 12 servings


Ingredients

1 cup whole wheat flour (gehun ka atta)
1/2 cup quick cooking rolled oats flour
1 tsp sugar
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 cup tutty fruity
1/4 cup chopped mixed nuts

Other Ingredients
1/4 cup milk
1/4 cup oil
1/4 cup plain apple sauce
1 tbsp vinegar
2 tsp vanilla essence

Other Ingredients
tutti fruity for garnishing

Method
  1. Combine the whole wheat flour, oats flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda and salt in a bowl and mix well.
  2. In a small bowl, coat the tutti fruity and nuts with 1 tsp of flour and keep aside.
  3. Combine the milk, oil, apple sauce, vinegar and vanilla essence in another bowl and whisk well.
  4. Add the wet mixture to the dry mixture and mix both in 1 direction till well combined.
  5. Mixture may appear lumpy.
  6. Add the tutti fruity and the dry fruits and mix once more.
  7. Pour the batter in the individual greased muffin moulds till half filled.
  8. Sprinkle some tutti fruity above each of them.
  9. Bake the muffins in a pre-heated oven for 25- 30 minutes or till baked well.
  10. Cool for at least 20 minutes before serving.
  11. Enjoy with a hot cup of tea or coffee or just as a snack.
