A simple basic sweet chutney with a sour note, made using dates, jaggery and tamarind. Serve it with hot and spicy indian appetizers or use it to make chaat.

Ingredients

Method
  1. Wash the tamarind and dates. Remove the seeds and add the jaggery and 2 teacups of water.
  2. Allow to soak for at least 3 to 4 hours.
  3. Blend the mixture in a liquidiser and strain.
  4. Add the chilli powder and salt and mix well.
